Using group chats

Create a group chat

To create a group chat:

  • Open the Yavi app
  • Go to your conversations
  • Tap the new conversation button (in the top right on iOS, bottom right on Android)
  • Choose the people to add to your group
  • Confirm

A new group chat will be created and you can send messages.


Example group chats

Here are some examples of how you can use group chats in Yavi:

  • Share sales and performance updates
  • Share important company announcements
  • Share training material and documents
  • Keep banter separate from your main schedule chat


Manage a group chat

To rename a group chat:

  • Open the group chat
  • Tap the Details button in the top right (or info icon on Android)
  • Tap the group name field
  • Type a name
  • Confirm

The group will be renamed and the group members will receive a message about the new name.

To add more members to the group:

  • Open the group chat
  • Tap the Details button in the top right (or info icon on Android)
  • Tap the "Add member" button
  • Choose the people to add to your group
  • Confirm

To remove members from the group:

  • Open the group chat
  • Tap the Details button in the top right (or info icon on Android)
  • Tap the "..." button next to the person you'd like to remove
  • Tap "Remove from group" and confirm
